Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd expressed its interest to collaborate with the Sarawak Petroleum Product Agents’ Association in promoting road safety.
This was mentioned by Sarawak Metro Chief Executive Officer Ts. Mazli Mustaffa when the idea was proposed by the association’s chairperson, Laura Hartini Maurice.
“We look forward to collaborating with the association, especially as Sarawak Metro is always prioritising on safety,” Mazli informed the association members during their recent engagement with Sarawak Metro.
Mazli also informed the association members that Sarawak Metro looked forward to work closely with them in the development of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project, especially as some of their petrol stations were located along the KUTS alignment.
“We always welcome the feedback from all our stakeholders, especially during this phase of our project as our construction works become more intense in the coming months.
“Aside from ensuring the safety of the public and our workers during this construction phase, we are also focused on reducing the disruptions caused by the works, particularly in terms of traffic management near our construction sites.”
Meanwhile, Laura also conveyed her members’ request to be notified in ample time when construction works are being carried out near their members’ stations, to allow them to make necessary preparations.
The members also requested for regular engagement with Sarawak Metro as they are also supportive of the government’s project, which aimed at improving the socio-economic landscape of Kuching city.
